“ Stayed at a hotel a block away. They told me this place was good. I rode 9hrs on a motorcycle today! Good was a drastic understatement! The filet mignon was cooked to perfection as medium rare! OMG!!! The chef packed in the flavor which I did not think possible! This is hands down one of the top 3 steak dinners I have ever had!!! The chef put the right amount of kosher salt and the herbs on top were a perfect blend! The mashed potatoes did not need salt and they too were packed with flavor which I was pleasantly surprised by! The buttered bread with the herbs and spices was a perfect trio show stopper of a meal!!! ”
“ Wow! We had a terrific dinner. The decorations are a lot of fun to look at. Our server was excellent, very fast and friendly. I was told the chef has a 5 star rating, and I believe it. ”
“ This place was wonderful. Such a home spun feel! The food was incredibly delicious and we made friends while we waited for our table. It was crowded and the wait was a little bit BUT, totally worth the wait and the staff was so kind and kept us updated. We were there on a Tuesday and many places in town are closed. Blackboard was open and truly the best food in town by far! OMG, their burger was amazing and don’t miss the sauteed mushroom appetizer served on thin crostini - so delicious! The fries were hot and crispy and so good! We also had the cod which was fantastic on mashed potatoes! Don’t miss this place. It has a cool vibe too! ”
“ Pretty good food. We like stronger flavours than is typical. The coleslaw in the chicken schnitzel had capers and jalapenos. That was nice. My muffeleta sandwich could use stronger olives. The desserts were very good and different. I liked the overall uniqueness of the cafe. ”
“ This is a great lunch & dinner spot! The food is always so delicately balanced, the staff friendly and has reasonable pricing! This time we enjoyed their milkshakes (banana and Oreo), Ahi Tuna Appetizer, Chicken Schnitzel, Prime Rib sandwich, and pesto grilled cheese with asparagus bell pepper soup ( soup of the day). ”
“ This was the only restaurant open for dinner on July 4 in Wallace, ID which surprised me because it wasn’t even 6:00. I wasn’t feeling pasta so I tried their cheeseburger, one of the best I’ve had! They have many flavors of milkshakes too. Would definitely eat here again! ”
“ We tried their lunch in the dining room. I had a delicious Reuben sandwich, and my husband had their ribeye sandwich. We also each had a different kind of soup. The food was really great and hit the spot for lunch. Note that the Blackboard Cafe also includes the Marketplace (with things like salami and made-to-order deli sandwiches), Todd’s Bookstore and Coffee, and Fox & Hare Mountainwear. ”
“ We went here two nights in a row. David was our server. He was amazing! Miranda, Elena, and Faith were so accommodating to us and made us feel at home. OMG! We will only go to Blackboard Cafe for our coffee (wonderful Americanos!), lunch AND dinner. Thank you Blackboard Cafe for making us feel so special. Your food and drinks are simply amazing. ”
